Stranger Things Season Three Preview
Last month, Netflix released the teaser for Season Three of its original show, Stranger Things. It is expected to air on July 4, 2019 and is promised to be the most exciting season yet.
The show is placed in 1980 in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana. Best friends Mike, Will, Dustin, and Lucas are outcasts in their school, and when Will mysteriously goes missing, the boys must work together to find him.
The second season of the show attracted a massive audience of 15.8 million Netflix subscribers back in 2017. And with promises to meet the high expectations, part three is expected to have even more viewers.
Season three was informally announced before the second season even aired in October 2017, and was made official later that year. Near the end of 2018, the show’s director, Shawn Levy, announced that filming the new season was taking longer than the others, but that would be made up with the cinematic excellence to come.
The past two seasons have featured the Upside Down, a parallel universe in which a demon lives. The use of intricate animation is admirable, and plays an important role in the eerie theme of the series.
The released trailer accentuates the playful side of the growing teens, but it’s clear that the horror factor is still apparent. The tagline “One summer can change everything,” leaves a lot to the imagination, and ensures a drama-filled eight episodes.
The returning main cast, Finn Wolfhard (Mike), Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Noah Schnapp (Will), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas), and Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), will be joined by Francesca Reale as Heather, a mysterious lifeguard who accelerates the darkness of the show. She will be joined by Maya Thurman-Hawke as Robin, the addition to the group of older teenagers who may uncover the secrets of the friend group.
The backstory of Jim Hopper, the detective of Hawkins, will be told in the upcoming book by Adam Christopher, Darkness on the Edge of Town. The story is to be released on June 4th and may hold information about season three.
On July 4, millions of Netflix fans will tune into Stranger Things season three to experience the thriller that is promised to be the most exciting season of the show to date.
