Starbucks’ New Menu Marks the Beginning of Fall

Starbucks released new fall drinks across the US and Canada earlier this month, which incorporate everything about the fall season.

The Starbucks company is arguably the most popular coffee franchise in the world. With almost 28,000 locations worldwide and millions of regular customers, seasonal drink additions are almost guaranteed to be popular.

This year’s fall menu includes plenty of hot and cold beverage options, perfect for the unpredictable weather this time of year. Some of the seasonal drinks have made their way back on the menu from previous years, while others are making their first debut.

One of those new drinks is the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew. It is the first cold pumpkin drink to join the menu since the Pumpkin Spice Latte was released in 2003. Considering the PSL is one of the most popular drinks of all time, the Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew had big shoes to fill, and it does not disappoint.

Cold Brew was a new phenomenon that made its way onto the menu back in 2015. The process takes 20 hours of slow brewing to create a smooth and rich flavor profile. The bold taste differs from traditional iced coffee, making it a perfect outlet for a new pumpkin flavored drink.

The slow steeped coffee combines with vanilla flavoring, pumpkin foam made with real pumpkin, and a dusting of pumpkin spice to make one of the best beverages on the menu. It has a slightly sweet note and lovely fall flavors, making it my personal favorite addition this year.

Another new drink is the Salted Caramel Mocha. It starts with espresso and milk mixed with mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup. It is best served hot but is also available iced or blended.

Starbucks also offers a variety of food options for fall. The Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, Pumpkin Scone, and Cat Cake Pop are a few options returning from previous years.

While this popular company has a lot to offer, a few local coffee shops have specialized fall drinks as well. Check out New Grounds or Coffee Connections to support local Hilliard cafes.

The fall menu at Starbucks released on August 27th allowed an extra month for PSL fanatics to enjoy the fall season. Head to a Starbucks location to try the returning and new beverages, and to embrace the autumn season.
