Steak Dinner Recipe
Here’s a great steak dinner recipe you can make that feeds four from Pinterest. It takes about 45 minutes to prepare and isn’t very expensive but healthy with broccoli and cornbread on the side. It’s a great recipe to make if you like to cook and love steak.
What you’ll need:
- 4 steaks
- 1 yellow onion
- 1 lb broccoli
- 1/2 tbsp southern spice blend
- 1 cup cornbread
- 5 oz baby spinach
- 1 lemon
- 2 oz white cheddar
- ½ cup sour cream
- Olive oil
To start you’ll need to preheat the oven to 450°F and wash and dry the fresh produce. Then you want to heat two teaspoons of olive oil in a large pan on medium-high heat until hot. While that is heating up, halve, peel and dice the onion, season it with salt and pepper and add it to the hot pan. Cook three to four minutes or until lightly browned.
Next, add the spinach and cook for one to two minutes, stirring frequently. Once it has wilted, transfer the onion to a large bowl and clear out the pan. Add the 1cup of cornbread mix, ½ cup sour cream and ¼ a cup of water into the large bowl and mix until just combined. Transfer it into a 11 by 6 inch (or eight by eight inch) baking dish and spread an even layer, topping it with the 2 oz of white cheddar cheese, grated.
Place the baking dish on the top rack of the oven and bake for 17-19 minutes (a toothpick inserted into center should come out with a few crumbs). Next, cut off and discard the broccoli’s stem and cut into small florets.
Place the florets onto a sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil, salt and pepper, then place in the lower rack of the oven and roast for 16-18 minutes or until they are brown and tender.
Now pat the steaks dry and season on all sides with salt, pepper and the spice blend. Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in a pan on medium to high heat. Cook the steaks, turning occasionally for 10-12 minutes for medium doneness and once they are done, let them sit for five minutes before cutting and serving. This is a great tasting dish.
