Throughout the entire month of February, the United States celebrates the accomplishments and history of many Americans for Black History Month. These achievements should be recognized throughout the entire year, and can be read about here.
Global warming has been a hot button issue for some time, and with how warm winter
has been these past two years it seems to be glaringly obvious that something has changed. Is this because of climate change and global warming? Find out more here.
On February 1st, students all across America signed to colleges for National Signing Day. Nine students at Darby officially locked in
their spots at their colleges, and more can be learned here.
One of the most memorable sporting events of the year, the Super Bowl, occurred on February 5th, and despite it being so iconic, many think we spend way too much money on it. The Darby Intramural Basketball final match took place on February 9th, with the
Sophomore team BAM! taking first place. Find out more about the intense game here.
Senior week this year took place during the week of February 6th through February 10th, and seniors showed their school spirit by dressing up for pajama day, twin day, want to be, senior citizen day, and pink out. See pictures of the seniors dressing up and read all about the week here.
Couples everywhere across the globe celebrated love and relationships on Valentine’s day, and Darby was no exception. There were festivities for weeks leading up to the big day, and they can all be read about here. Some believe that too much money is being spent on the holiday every year, and the facts can be found here.
Darby and Hilliard bands competed in the West Instaband Semi-Finals for a chance to
move on for a chance to become accomplished artists and jumpstart their career. Learn more about the performances here.
The 18th annual Student Staff Basketball game took place on Thursday, February 16th. The teacher team remained undefeated, winning by a score of 40 to 25. For exclusive interviews and more information about the game, read this.

OMEA, the Ohio Music Education Association, a district contest, is on March 3rd and choir will be competing against central Ohio.
Wrestling will also be competing at their own districts on the 3rd. The first couple weeks of March will be important to the wrestling team, with states occurring at the schottenstein center the weekend of the 9th.
The winter sports awards is on the 7th in the PAC, where all winter athletes will reflect on their past season.
On the 16th, National Honors Society members and parents will gather in the PAC for the inductions of sophomores and juniors into the organization, and will be followed by refreshments in the media center.
The Friday before spring break, the 17th, is the highly anticipated Renaissance card breakfast, hosted by PAW club.
Decisions, and of course money, for AP testing is due on March 13th for the tests in April.
Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse season begins at Olentangy High School on Wednesday, March15th. Girls’ Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams have their first games on Saturday the 18th in Dayton. Boy’s Baseball will play St. Charles Cardinals on the 18th as well. The 23rd is the start of Girls; Softball season at Liberty Union High School.
On the 25th Girl’s Track will participate in the Watkins Memorial Ice Breaker Invitational. Boy’s Varsity Tennis against Delaware Hayes will start their season off at home.
Spring break begins Monday the 20th, and lasts only until that Friday. Band, orchestra, and theatre will embark to Disney on the 17th, and club will be in Spain and France.
