Darby’s victory over Westerville North game was held at Darby on September 18, 2015. The game’s theme was neon. Everyone in the stands was pumped up from the tailgate that featured a paint fight, and State Farm was there serving Jimmy Johns and hot dogs while a DJ played music.

When the game started, students were pumped and ready to go, wearing neon. In the first quarter of the game, Darby started on offense with senior quarterback Nick Powers starting with the ball. Later on, during a Westerville possession, senior wide receiver and linebacker Braeden Hook intercepted Westerville’s ball, and made 40 yard run. Senior running back and defensive line player Kyle Colvin made the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter. After Colvin made the touchdown, Blake Sawicki kicked a field goal to score an extra touchdown . The score was 7-0 with Darby in the lead.

In the second quarter, Westerville started with the ball then lost it. Then a miracle happened when Powers made two touchdowns for the Panthers. The crowd went wild with the score of 24 -0, Darby still staying strong.

In the third quarter, sophomore running back and linebacker Donta Ashcraft made another touchdown for Darby. Westerville North player #14 Colin Fugger made the only touchdown for Westerville North. This left the score 31 to 7.

In fourth and final quarter in the game, sophomore Jake Schneider made the final touchdown of the game leaving the score at 38 – 7.

As the game ended the victory bell rang, marking Darby’s success as they still remain undefeated.

Assistant Coach Shawn Papp explained that there is no such thing as an easy win and he hopes that every week  players will get better.
