October’s most anticipated TV show releases

During the fall months, I think we all enjoy relaxing at home while watching our favorite TV shows on Netflix. There are so many options to choose from, including dramas, like Grey’s Anatomy, to the action-packed show, Supergirl. Each month, Netflix adds new shows and movies to the website for their subscribers to enjoy. October has brought some exciting new shows to the Netflix platform that you might love.

On October 1st, Netflix released its first pool of new content for the month on the platform, but the majority of new shows were released in the days following. A notable show to check out this month is Making a Murderer, a documentary series, the second part of which came out on October 19th. The show follows the story of Steven Avery, a wrongly convicted felon who spent eighteen years in prison for a crime he did not commit. It discusses how he went from one conviction to another and questions his innocence throughout the series. The show has been very popular among a wide range of audiences, and has caused people to petition Avery’s case in the state of Wisconsin.

Another new show that might be just what you’re looking for during the spooky season is The Haunting of Hill House, a gothic fiction. This show is a Netflix original series that takes a look into the lives of siblings who grew up in what would become the most famous haunted house in history and their journey back to the house that scared them for years. This show is trending right now on Netflix and has a lot of hype surrounding it.

If a documentary series or gothic fiction isn’t your TV genre of choice and you would like a fictional spooky show, I have just the one for you. The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is coming to Netflix on October 26th and is based off of the comic book series produced by Archie Comics. It follows the teenage years of a young girl who is struggling to accept the witch life of her family or the human life of her friends. This internal battle turns into strange encounters and scary adventures for her and her loved ones. She has to hurry up and decide which half of her life she wants to fully immerse herself in.

Those are the most anticipated TV show releases of October on Netflix, but some popular shows that have been running for a few years have had new seasons come out this month. Season three of Riverdale came out this month and is airing on the CW channel every Wednesday. Also, season fourteen of Criminal Minds came out this month, which might be the perfect show to start binging during the month of October, if you are not already obsessed.

This month has been a pretty exciting month for TV shows. There are countless new shows to binge that are all that anyone could want during this spooky season. Next time you are scrolling through Netflix, maybe click on one of the shows I’ve mentioned, you might just find your new favorite.
