Most Creative Halloween Costumes of 2018
Halloween is the most spooky time of the year. One of the most popular things to do on this holiday is to go trick-or-treating and dress up in your favorite costume. What else could make kids happier than running around getting free candy? Hilliard started their trick-or-treating at 6pm with lots of excited kids on Wednesday, October 31st. Kids filled the streets of their neighborhoods, along with their friends and family, dressed in the most creative costumes.
In 2018, some of the most popular costumes for boys were Black Panther, a Stormtrooper, and Deadpool. For girls, the most popular costumes were Moana, Wonder Woman, and a unicorn. In Ohio, the number one most popular costume was Tinkerbell for girls and Black Panther for boys. As seen on multiple social media websites, one creative costume was Transformers, as it actually transforms into a car! This has been the
most creative costume seen so far in 2018. Other popular outfits that people wear on Halloween are the Joker, Pennywise, and Mickey Mouse. The fun spirit of Halloween will never die down for kids and continues to grow in Hilliard every year.
Although it might seem like kids are having all the fun during this holiday, adults get into the spooky spirit as well. The most commonly seen costumes for adults this year were Batgirl, 1980’s theme, and the cast from Scooby Doo.
Even though Halloween seems as if it is growing every year, many kids stop participating in the scary festivities once they reach high school. This was not the case for Junior Briana Turner. She shared what her plans were for Halloween.
“I am going trick-or-treating with my younger brother and my brother is dressing up as a doctor from the show ‘Doctor Who,” she explained.
As kids get older, they will never forget that one costume they wore when they were younger that was their favorite. Turner also discussed what her favorite costume was from her childhood.
“I was a bunch of different things for Halloween but, I think my favorite was a minion from the movie ‘Despicable Me’,” Turner said.
Another Highschool student that went trick-or-treating was Junior Emma McCann. She was going with her younger sibling as well.
“I am going trick-or-treating with my six year old brother,” McCann said, “He is dressing up as a Minecraft character.”
As many high schoolers move away from trick-or-treating, they will still continue to dress up in fun or cool costumes for this holiday. Some other costumes worn by high schoolers were Cheryl, from the television show ‘Riverdale’, Baljeet, from the television show ‘Phineas and Ferb’, and a plague doctor from the 1300’s.
This Halloween was certainly full of fun and unique costumes, but we cannot wait to see what the creative costume trends will be next year.
