Lady Panthers Soccer dominate competition in 1st tournament game
Girls Soccer crushed the Marion Harding Presidents under the stadium lights last night, winning their first tournament game of the season with an impressive score of 7-0.
Each player was only allowed to score on the Presidents once, per Coach Dan Brady’s mandate. Seniors Maddi Wallace, Carlee Murry, Riley Demjan and Hannah Ervin, Juniors Haley Simpson and Gabby Iosue, plus Sophomore Blair Cowan, each scored a goal.
Wallace, who recently committed to play for Otterbein University next year, scored the fifth goal in the first half. She told how the win last night contributed to the team’s attitude going forward.
“It’s a big step towards our next game,” Wallace said, “we’re excited to win more.”
Senior player Mara Wende told that the girls are hungry for more wins.
“We’re going to do well because we’re hyped. We want to go all the way.” Wende stated.
Panther Nation will rally behind the girls yet again, in their next tournament game at home on Tuesday against Olentangy Orange.
Assistant Coach Carly Pries said, “The girls have worked so hard this season and we are hoping to win it all!”
