Girl’s soccer ties in last scrimmage in the season
The women’s soccer team played hard for a draw against the Upper Arlington Monarchs on Thursday August 18th. This was their first time against UA this season. In a rather low-scoring game, both teams scored twice even though the our lady Panthers started off rough without scoring in the first half. Sophomore Blaire Cowan tied it up in the second half with a penalty kick.
Freshman Megan Buel, who played Thursday night, is confident in her team improving from this scrimmage.
“Upper Arlington played pretty well, but we held our own, and got a couple goals in there,” said Buel, a freshman on the varsity team, ”I think we can beat them later on in the season, if we don’t beat ourselves up and put our heads down every time we make a mistake and just work”.
The team will play their first game against Grandview tomorrow night, August 23rd. They will also play Marysville again next month. Judging from the way the girls played on Thursday, it is going to be an exciting soccer season.
