With the fall season in full swing, it is that time of the year to start getting your friends and family together to go to some fun fall festivities. Some of people’s favorites are going to a pumpkin patch, picking apples, or going on hayrides. Other activities include haunted houses, corn mazes, and carving pumpkins. One popular activity going on this fall is going to Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm. This farm is located near Delaware County in Radnor, Ohio. Lehner’s Farm is not just a pumpkin patch, instead it has activities going on weekly that will make everyone happy and make the trip worthwhile. Planning a trip is super easy because you can order tickets online or when you get there, with ticket prices ranging from $5 to $9. Lehner’s Farm also does birthday parties, school tours and group events. A couple of years ago, the family-owned farm starting doing weddings as well. Lehner’s Farm has more activities rather than just picking out a pumpkin. I talked with one of Lehner’s employees about what makes their farm unique.
“We have a lot of kid friendly activities going on and our farm is a great place for family fun! We have about 35 different activities going on weekly for our guests,” she explained.
When buying tickets for a trip to Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm, it includes the corn maze, play barn for little kids, barrel rides, hayrides, a jump pillow, and an animal farm. Along with these activities, there is also a zipline, slingshot, climbing wall, and rolling around in inflatable pumpkins! I asked the employee when their busiest time of the season was and she promptly responded.
“The fall and Halloween season is definitely our busiest time of the year. Normally late October and into November is when we are our busiest because we have to be fully prepared for a large crowd every week!”
Lehner’s Pumpkin Farm also has multiple barns with activities inside, incase it gets too cold. They have a giant barn with a food court area where they make their own food, such as pulled pork sandwiches, nachos, tacos, hot apple cider and much more! The farm also has a gift shop if you want to buy homemade pumpkins pies, squash or get someone you know a t-shirt or gift for the holidays. Lehner’s Farm has two indoor play areas for kids, one is an animal track maze with play barn and the other is an area for them to play with trucks in a pit of corn.
I asked Junior Carli Rigel what her thoughts were about the pumpkin patch.
“This is my favorite part about fall and we have been going to this pumpkin patch since I was little. Every year they have something new that keeps bringing my family back,” she said.
