Darby Volleyball takes down Bradley

The girls volleyball team won three sets to one against Bradley last Tuesday, September 12th. Apparently to some people this was considered an upset because of Bradley’s Division 1 talent. However, that was not the case. The Panthers had a solid start and won their first two sets and would go on to split the last two sets winning 3-1. This volleyball team was off to a rough start losing two of their first three games. Since then they have been on a roll winning six of their last seven games.

Junior Stacia Rispress explained what changed to help shift the momentum of the season.

“The team chemistry continues to get better with every game, some of the goals we set at the beginning were to beat both Hilliard teams, win OCC, and make it deeper into the playoffs than last year,” Rispress said.

With this win, Darby accomplished their goal of beating both of the other Hilliard teams. Winning OCC’s is the next thing on their list. This should not be too difficult with how good the team is, and the potential this team possesses is unmatched.

Many people believe  Darby is an underrated team with a ton of upside and would not be surprised if they accomplished their goals and then some. They could even make it further than the district finals and regionals. Honestly, this team could potentially be a state contender.

Darby plays Dublin Jerome on Thursday, September 28th at 7:00 pm.
