Darby Basketball pulling away with another win
Darby’s boys basketball team went 1-1 this Friday and Saturday. They won their game against Worthington Kilbourne with a score of 65-54, despite low expectations. Darby is currently missing three starters, including the only two bigger men on the team.
Darby played small ball and it was pretty effective. Senior Josh Govine and Junior Jaelin Benjamin split with 14 points apiece but the star of the night was Junior shooting guard Kyle Miller. Miller went four for five from behind the arc and scored a game high of 21 points.
After the game, Miller was proud of what it took for Darby to walk away with a win.
“This was a huge win for us. We had some starters out so we knew we needed to step up and give it our all. Our shots were falling are defense was good. Overall we played a pretty good game and it should be a great confidence boost when we get to full strength,” said Miller.
Unfortunately, they lost Saturday to Grove City 64-67. This game was a nail bitter and one they wish they could have back. The outcome of this game was a shot or stop away from getting another victory. Maybe fatigue played a role in this one since Darby had to go back to back games.
Go support Darby’s team this week as they get ready to play at Dublin Scioto on Tuesday and home against Franklin Heights on Friday. Both games start at 7 o’clock.
