Boys’ soccer secures victory and moves on to districts
Darby Boys Soccer won another home playoff game against Marysville on Wednesday. It was the second time playing Marysville this season, the first time being a 1-1 tie on Senior Night.
Darby started strong, scoring in the first minute and never looking back. The defense held their own for most of game as well. The strong defense led way for a goal for Senior Ross Baumer, off of a great assist from Sophomore Jackson Janetski. Darby’s final goal came from Junior Blake Sawicki in the second half. Marysville tacked on a goal in the second half as well, but that was their only goal on the day.
In the end, Darby secured a 3-1 victory, sending them to districts. It was a heated match, with words exchanged between both teams. Countless yellow cards were given out, and a red card was given to Junior Josh Govine. If Darby can avoid provocation in their upcoming match, they could obtain another win.
