Band and Color Guard qualifies for states
Over the weekend the band and color guard qualified for states in the Hilliard Invitational at Bradley.
Their performance, “High Strung”, is the same one preformed at halftime during all football games. The band received a “Superior” rating, which is the highest rating available.
Along with that high rating, the color guard was the only guard at the competition to get a one, the highest score possible, out of all 19 schools at the competition. This is a continuation of the band getting a superior rating at this competition for the past few years.
Matthew Connell, senior and band president, is excited to have gotten such a great score at the competition.
“It was a lot of hard work the day of and the day of the competition,” Connell explained, ”We still have a lot of work to do but it means we’re on the right track.”
