Addition to the art department Mrs. Ufferman is glad to be here
The art department has a new teacher on their roster this year, RyAnne Ufferman. She teaches the first level of Ceramics, Painting, and Drawing classes.
This is her fourth year teaching, previously at Benjamin Logan High School, Fredericktown High School, and Hilliard’s Brown Elementary.
Ufferman’s favorite part of her new job is exposing students to a variety of art and one on one planning with students.
”The personalization we are able to offer students allows them to come up with original ideas that drive their exploration of the process,” she said.
The art teacher explained the material her classes deal with can more exciting, or likely to engage students easier as it’s hands on things that results in physical work. The class ability to let students have a studio platform is also important to her.
Ufferman enjoys how at the Darby she is apart of the art department, and not the only Art teacher.
“I am very excited to be working at the DARB! The people here are so positive and welcoming,”she noted.
Sophomore Gabby Byerly has Ufferman for Painting One.
“I’m glad she’s here at Darby. She’s inspiring in class and very good,” Byerly said.
